ABOUT THE BAND

In the late 90s, the rain-soaked streets of Dublin were badly in need of some soul sunshine. Thus Cantaloupe was unleashed onto the sonic front line, offering an eclectic mix of the toughest soul-jazz with a touch of funk, latin and ska. Ten years on, our battle-hardened rhythm and horn sections remain, fronted by powerhouse singers with a heavy dose of raw soul.

For those who choose love, passion, melody and screaming riffs, this is the band for you. We play a mix of original material and classic covers dug deep from the vault.

The hardest working band south of the Liffey, Cantaloupe are currently knockin' em dead at the Sugar Club and the Gaiety Theatre, following on from successful residencies in Lillie's Bordello and Vicar Street and regular TV appearances on RTE.

Festival appearances include the Guinness Cork
Jazz Festival, Kilkenny Latin Karnivale, Drogheda Samba Festival, Ballina Street Festival and the Waterford Spraoi among others.

We are currently working on an album due for launch at end of 2008.
